Submissions & Criteria

All submissions shall be made no later than the 1st of January 2022

The Marking criteria is as follows.

The work of literature, music or art this year shall marked on heritage, connection to the land and soil and the articulation of high ideals of Australian life. The criteria points totaling at 30 points is broken into the following categories:

  • Honoring Australian heritage 10pts
  • Recognition of connection to place/landscape/soil 10pts
  • Advocacy for / Articulation of High Ideals of Australian culture and national life 10pts

Submissions shall be marked by the end of January 2022 and finalists contacted for interview.

Your work may be uploaded to any service relevant on the internet with a link sent to – Please leave your contact details with the submission; name and phone number as a minimum.

Australian HeritageDoes it honour those who have come before us, does it recognise their struggles, victories and or losses? Does it show our connection to those who have come before us?
Connection to placeDoes it show our inseparable connection from the soil beneath our feet, does it show our dominion over the land and animals, does it show how we are at the mercy of the land?
Advocacy of Australian idealsDoes it promote family values, a character of hard work, exploration, self-discipline, self-reliance, ethnic solidarity or comradery.
